Welcome to DaddyTravelsNow.com
It took me a little while to blog again using my own DaddyTravels site. It was purely because I needed to make the next move. My site has gotten busier, loaded with pictures, and the free blog given by WordPress had its limits with the amount of pictures I could load. It was also this year that I was interviewed by Digital Nomad’s Ricky Shetty, and the interview was shared on his Facebook site and was also uploaded on YouTube.

2018 started out hectic on the home front, we tackled lots of home improvement projects. We had removed the carpet in the family room, and two of the bedrooms upstairs and replaced them with laminate flooring. We also removed hardwood in our kitchen area (an area that suffered flooding from our sink), and replaced that with tiles.
We also removed the linoleum from two of the bathrooms upstairs and replaced that with tiles. Lastly, we removed the carpet from our stairs, very dingy carpet, and installed the wooden stairs of my dreams.

Big credit goes to my Uncle, my Ninong Nerry. He was the mastermind who took care of this huge undertaking for us. That alone took three weeks of our time.
Just when we thought we were done, we embarked on one more home improvement task. We painted Ethan’s bedroom.
Soon after, we hired a contractor to paint our kitchen cabinets, our kitchen walls, and family room plus our bathroom downstairs. As of this writing, we are still halfway through that process, and we are hoping to see the end of it all soon, very soon.

Oh, the blog
Yes, as you can see, I’ve neglected my own blog. I started the process early in March. I wanted to get my own domain, but someone had already purchased DaddyTravels.com, and I didn’t really want to spend an arm and a leg to buy that domain.

At the end of the day, I wanted to make sure the words “Daddy” and “Travels” stayed as part of the domain name. I ended up choosing these two, I thought they both represented the ideas surrounding DaddyTravels.
DaddyTravels101 won the survey, however, it was DaddyTravelsNow that spoke to me the most. As I had mentioned to many of my friends and family, no matter the name, I will still continue to share what I am most passionate about and that is to travel with the family for nearly free, and write about those adventures for everyone else to learn.

NOW is the time
NOW -at the present time or moment. Yes, there’s no better time than now. I’ve seen life come full circle, come to an end in so many shapes and forms. Time could easily pass you by if you let it. This was the reason why I feel so fortunate to not only travel, but to travel for nearly free, and be able to bring my entire family on our trips.

The icing on the cake is the opportunity to share this with many of my friends, family, and followers. The real reward is to see pictures when those I’ve helped or learned from my tips have actually taken grand vacations themselves.

I didn’t want Nancy and I to wait until we’re older in order for us to explore around Europe. I’ve now been to Europe enough times to know that it takes a lot of energy to walk around Europe. I’m so glad that we are doing this NOW. Traveling has always been a part of me, more so now than ever. It was because of this miles and points earning hobby that afforded us to travel to many parts of the world.

So yes, welcome, or shall I say, welcome back, or welcome again to DaddyTravels, this time, I’m now DaddyTravelsNow. Same ol’ Jason, still focused on bringing you our travel adventures as family. This is all for now, thanks again for all your support.
