After we spent the day in Naples, we took the train back to Roma Termini. It was a quick train ride – just a bit over an hour, and I believe we only stopped once.
Italo train was clean, fast, reliable, and I would ride them again in the future. The car we were on also had access to free Wi-Fi.
Upon arriving back in Rome, we headed straight for our hotel. Lucas, the front desk clerk, suggested a few locations for us to visit. I told him of the places we had already visited. I did read about Trastevere, and in my past visit, I don’t recall ever visiting Trastevere before. Lucas agreed and suggested that we go there. It was only 1 bus ride away. From Roma Termini, we took the H bus, and we got there within 15-20 minutes.
Madison and I got to Trastevere before 8pm. We headed straight to Ristorante Carlo Menta. I read about this restaurant for their delicious pizza and pasta. It did not fail.
We were given window seats which allowed us people watch. For dinner, we ordered Tagliolini alla scoglio and penne with gorgonzola cheese. We also added Pizza al funghi – that was a great dinner.
After dinner, we decided to walk around this area. It was a busy Saturday night, with lots of restaurants, shops, cafes, and bars. There were street performers as well. It was a perfect summer evening.
Before we caught the H bus to ride back home, we went to the bridge and took pictures of Tiber River….pictures I’ve seen so many times, and now, I’ve taken them myself. Thank you, Lucas, for suggesting Trastevere.
