The deets
To be perfectly honest, we “slowed” down with credit card applications in 2019/2020. But there were just way too many great cards to pass up in 2021, and I’m not one to really track every single one of them. I just go with which card I believe works with our strategy, which cards have min spend that I know we could meet easily.
Many of my peers do more, or apply for more cards. Remember, it’s not about keeping up with your peers. It’s not about the SHINY CARD SYNDROME.
  • Do not be blinded by the big numbers, the big bonuses
  • 150K bonus from Hilton does not mean it’s a better card when compared with 100K bonus from Chase Sapphire Preferred.
  • 100 yen does not equal $100
