One of my trusted travel buddies, Michael S., sent me a message and told me about his plans to book a hotel in Vegas that was part of Choice Hotels, To be honest, I didn’t know much about Choice Hotels. So I had to look it up. And when I looked deeper, they do have brands that cater to the budget travelers, and they also have properties that are midscale and upscale. Why the sudden interest with Choice Hotels?

Mike mentioned to me that he was able to book the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas using his credit card points that he transferred to Choice Privileges, Choice Hotels’ loyalty program. We didn’t realize that the M Resort was under the upscale Ascend Hotel Collection.

How to earn Choice Privileges points

How to easily earn elite status match with Choice Hotels

The moment that Mike and I chatted about his first hotel booking with Choice Hotels, we talked about earning status with Choice Hotels. Why? Having an elite status had changed our travels. It’s good to be recognized when you have a good status. Some hotels offer great perks, rewards, or recognition by having elite status. So when Mike sent me a message about Choice and his M Resort booking, I looked up how to do a status match with Choice Hotels.

• Create an account with Choice Privileges Rewards
• Once you’ve created an account with Choice,
  • simply email Status_Match@choicehotels.com (for United States and Canadian members)
  • Status_Match_EU@choicehotels.com (for European members) or;
  •  cp@choicehotels.au (for Australian or New Zealand members) with the following information:

1. 1. • Full Name
      • Choice Privileges Member Number
      • Proof of Elite status in another hotel program:
        • Screenshot or copy of your other program’s loyalty card (with expiration date)
        • Or, screenshot or copy of other program’s current statement or account status page

For me, I did exactly as suggested by Choice Hotels. I submitted the following proofs:

• Marriott Platinum Elite
• IHG Platinum Elite

That was easy

Without joking, I sent the email to Choice Hotels at 6:30am, and by 7:30 am, an hour after I sent the request to Choice Hotels, I received this email:
