Still don’t know 5/24. PLEASE, PLEASE REVIEW THIS….THIS IS KEY. No matter where you are in this hobby (new or seasoned) you have to know your 5/24 status. • Should you get the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card? If you are new, or you meet many of the requirements below…THIS IS THE CARD TO GET. THIS IS THE PERFECT STARTER CARD. If this was a medication, this is HIGHLY PRESCRIBED.
  • Have you had a Sapphire card before? (Preferred, Reserve, and/or the no annual fee Sapphire Card)
  • If you have/had a Sapphire card, has it been 48 months or greater since you got the Sapphire bonus? REMEMBER: When you received the last Sapphire bonus is KEY, not when you opened up the Sapphire card.
  • If you got the bonus less that 48 months ago, you will NOT qualify to apply for a new CSP.
  • How do you know WHEN you got the last Sapphire bonus? Go back to your old statements. Or, you can try and call Chase and ask.
  • Do you have an open/active Sapphire card today? If yes, you would need to call Chase and do a product change to a no annual fee Freedom card. You CANNOT have an open/active Sapphire card when you apply for a new CSP. You will be DENIED.
  • If you have points on your Sapphire card today, and you change to a Freedom card, you won’t lose your points.
  • How long do you wait AFTER doing a product change? Some have waited a week, others up to two weeks before reapplying.
